Every October, Fleet Week is one of San Francisco’s most anticipated traditions, bringing exciting air shows, ship tours, and more community activities to the city. Fleet Week 2026 officially kicked off yesterday, October 4, and will run through Monday, October 12. Here’s what to know for the week.

One of the main events of the weekend is the airshow, featuring the iconic Blue Angels. The airshow starts on Friday, October 9, and runs through Sunday, October 11. San Francisco Fleet Week Events

Aside from the airshow, the week has many exciting events, including concerts, a festival at Fisherman’s Wharf, ship tours, and more.
Parade of Ships: The Parade of Ships starts the weekend festivities on October 9 between 11 am and 12 pm, with various vessels sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Neighborhood concerts: San Franciscans can enjoy dozens of free concerts in various neighborhoods around the city. Check out the full concert schedule online.
Fleet Fest: Fisherman’s Wharf is hosting a free festival at the Skystar Wheel on Saturday and Sunday with music, food, and ship tours.
Honor Our Fallen Concert: On October 8, the United States Marine Corps 1st Marine Division Band will play at the Marines’ Memorial Theatre to honor fallen service members. The concert is free, but requires advance registration online.
Transit and Traffic during Fleet Week

The air shows over the weekend are expected to cause traffic and reroutes to transit. Notable changes include reroutes to F Market Street cars and changes to the cable car schedules. You can also expect partial bus substitutions for some cable cars and extra buses to accommodate larger crowds.
Autonomous vehicles will be geofenced with designated pickup and drop-off locations to avoid confusion and traffic. Check out our guide to Fleet Week transit and traffic for more details.
