Union Square is in Downtown San Francisco, lined with major businesses, including the Nintendo store and Macy’s. The square hosts a variety of free programming and events, including dance lessons, movie nights, and more. Now, the square will host free crafting events starting in November.
Winter Crafting in Union Square
Starting on November 5, 2026, San Franciscans can attend free crafting events on select Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The crafting events start this week and will run through January 17, 2027. The crafting events are from 3 to 6 p.m. and are run by various partners, including SCRAP, an SF arts nonprofit. Other partners include Maker Studio Kidz, Casey’s Craft Club, Spark Studio, Coffee N Cream Press, and Rebecca Saylor Studio.
Each crafting event will have a different focus, such as watercolor painting, tea light jar decorating, mini frames with charms, and many more. The crafting is a wonderful opportunity to create a handmade gift or make decorations for the holidays.
