Adam Sandler is in San Francisco this week to shoot the new Netflix psychological drama Time Out, and he’s wasted no time becoming a regular at Original Joe’s, a legendary Italian-American restaurant that’s been around for nearly 90 years.
In fact, SFGATE reported yesterday that Sandler visited several Original Joe’s locations four times in four days, including in Westlake, North Beach, and Little Original Joe’s in the Marina.
Multiple sources also placed Sandler at skateshop Everyday SFC, A Valkyries Game at Chase Center, and The Cove at Oyster Point.
Original Joe’s and Everyday SFC shared pictures of the actor’s visits on Instagram.
While filming details are closely guarded for the new Netflix film,Time Out, the psychological thriller is primarily being filmed in Vancouver and San Francisco. It stars Sandler as Vincent, a consultant who constructs an elaborate fake life after being fired.
You’d be hard-pressed to find a San Franciscan who isn’t as enthusiastic about Original Joe’s as Sandler seems to be. Founded in 1937 by Croatian immigrant Tony Rodin, this Italian-American restaurant has grown into a local institution, known for its exhibition kitchen and iconic red leather booths. Be sure to try the prime rib, spaghetti and meatballs, and the butter cake.
