Amtrak is a popular way to explore the West Coast due to its scenic routes between major cities such as SF, Seattle, Los Angeles, and more. If you’ve been wanting to romanticize your life with a train trip, Amtrak is having a fall sale on routes across the country, including a few in California.
The Amtrak fall sale offers 25% off most fares for a week. The discounted prices apply to coach tickets, and the sale is available from August 14 through August 20. The sale applies to routes across the country, including California Zephyr, Coast Starlight, and more.

- LA to Seattle: 105$
- Oakland to Seattle: $93
You can also take the train from San Francisco to other parts along the California coast, including Santa Barbara, where a one-way ticket can cost only $48.
