San Francisco’s Chinatown hosts a lively Autumn Moon Festival every year, featuring food vendors, performances, and more. The event has been celebrating the autumn moon and harvest in San Francisco for over 30 years. The 2025 festival is this weekend, from Saturday, September 27, to Sunday, September 28. The festival will start with a parade on Saturday at 11 am, complete with a ribbon cutting followed by a lion dance performance.

The festival has a packed lineup of performances each day, with dancing, music, and more. Plus, you can enter into a dumpling-eating contest on Sunday or watch a mooncake demonstration from a local bakery. The Autumn Moon Festival celebrates the “glories and mysteries of the moon” according to organizers. Mooncakes are a traditional pastry often served at Autumn Moon celebrations.
