The top 10 highest-rated restaurants in San Francisco (according to Google reviews) include swanky Michelin-starred fine dining, a 120-year-old Italian deli, a seafood powerhouse, and more. But you might be surprised to discover this lesser-known cafe in the #10 spot out of 2,410 restaurants in the city!
Cafe de Casa is a small, cozy cafe in San Francisco with an average of 4.7/5 stars across 596 reviews. They’re known for serving delicious sweet and savory Brazilian pastries, fresh açaí bowls, gluten-free crepes, cheese bread sandwiches, and so much more.
Some of the most popular salgados (savory pastries) include the Coxinha, filled with shredded chicken and cream cheese; Rissoles, a deep-fried turnover pastry with various fillings; and Esfirra de Carne, a meat pie filled with ground beef, tomato, and olives.
They also serve up fresh and tasty açaí bowls topped with fruit and granola. Their peanut butter bowl is a customer favorite, with peanut butter blended into the açaí and topped with condensed milk, alongside the usual toppings.
It’s worth making a meal of it with their tapiocas, or Brazilian gluten-free crepes. Some of the best ones include the sertaneja (Brazilian dried beef), presunto (ham and cheese), and Romeu & Julieta (guava jelly and mozzarella).
Of course, they don’t disappoint when it comes to drinks, either. Fresh-squeezed juice options include orange and carrot, or pineapple and mint. Their pour-over coffee is a total hit, of course, being some of the best Brazilian coffee you can find in SF.
On your way out the door, be sure to grab a frozen cheese bread or beef shepherd’s pie for future cravings.
Clearly, we’re totally smitten with Cafe de Casa. Make sure to check it out if you have a hankering for authentic Brazilian food, excellent service, and a new go-to coffee spot!
