Carvana, the leading e-commerce platform for used cars, has installed one of its famous car vending machines right nearby in Daly City. The enormous 8-story glass structure can fit 27 cars, all of which are available to buy online and receive through the machine. This car vending machine is the fourth of its kind in California, and the 32nd in the United States.
To use the machine, customers need purchase their car online from Carvana and then arrive at the Daly City machine to meet with a customer service advocate. They will be presented with a commemorative oversized coin to activate the machine, and have a front-row seat to watch their pick descend through the gigantic structure. Customers will then have 7 days to test-drive the vehicle and decide if they want to keep it.
Carvana installed its first car vending machine in Nashville in 2015 and has since added more machines in 19 states across the country. Additional California machines are found in Ontario, Westminster, and San Diego.
Vehicles sold through Carvana pass a rigorous 150-point inspection, and their features and history are included on each one’s description page. Customers can also sell their old car via Carvana without purchasing a new one, and there are no last-minute or hidden fees when purchasing.
“Bridging the gap between consumers and automakers by removing the traditional dealership infrastructure and replacing it with technology and exceptional customer service has always been Carvana’s mission,” said Ernie Garcia, Carvana founder and CEO. “Carvana offers consumers an intuitive and affordable online car buying and financing solution that embraces San Francisco’s world-renowned disruptor spirit, and now we look forward to driving people in the tech capital of the U.S. happy with all of the fun and excitement that comes with a Car Vending Machine pickup experience.”
