In 2023, Chinatown debuted a weekend night market with local vendors lining the streets of Grant Ave. The market drew thousands of people and soon became a regular occurrence on the second Friday of each month starting in May. The 2025 night markets are coming to an end this weekend, with the last scheduled market on Friday, October 10. The markets returned for 2025 in May and have continued to be successful month after month, regularly drawing between 10 and 18 thousand people.

The event showcases over 40 local businesses and restaurants, inviting guests to shop, eat, and enjoy Chinatown. The night markets also include DJs and live performers, making it a lively evening event. The market spans from California Street to Pacific on Grant Avenue, and a block up on Waverly Place, you find games and seating. Some participating vendors include Smokin’D BBQ, Zhu’s Tea, House of Dim Sum, AA Bakery, and many more. Vendors at the market have been very successful, with some reporting, they can make an entire week’s worth of sales in one evening, according to organizers. You can find the complete list of vendors to expect here.

Night Markets have been incredibly popular in San Francisco over the recent years, with 10,000 people attending a new market in the Sunset District recently. BeChinatown, a coalition of community members and local business owners, regularly organizes events in Chinatown. They’ve completed numerous projects over the last few years, and continue to work to uplift local businesses.
The last Chinatown Night Market of 2025 is this Friday, October 10 from 5 to 9 pm. You can learn more about the market here.
