In sad news for noodle lovers, SF restaurant Chubby Noodle has revealed that it will shutter its North Beach location on April 30, 2025. The announcement has appeared as an overlay on the restaurant’s website, with no official explanation yet for the closure.
Chubby Noodle gained a passionate following after opening as a pop-up in 2011, eventually moving to a successful brick-and-mortar. Their $55 weekend brunch is a major draw, offering a family-style feast with AYCE salt and pepper shrimp, spicy wontons, Szechuan green beans, spicy garlic noodles, firecracker chicken, a hot sausage scramble, cucumber salad, and roasted cauliflower. These flavorful dishes make for 10/10 comfort food to pair with your choice of bottomless mimosas, sangria, or Sapporo.
Beyond its signature brunch offering, Chubby Noodle expands its menu at the dinner hour to include a nice selection of noodle dishes in the ample yet cozy dining space. While the garlic noodles are a crowd favorite, some other popular plates include the chicken chow mein and beef chow fun. You could also venture into the menu of Chef’s Favorites to taste the savory Mongolian beef or Hawaiian curry—just make sure you don’t disregard the sake menu for a digestif when it’s all said and done.
As of now, Chubby Noodle has not publicly shared an official statement about the closure, beyond the website overlay reading “We’re Closing – Join us at our San Francisco location before April 30th. Or visit us at our Cabo, Mexico location.” We’ve reached out for comment and will update this story if more information becomes available.
Chubby Noodle’s Cabo San Lucas location will remain open and operating as usual. For now, fans have just under two weeks to book a table for a final weekend brunch or dinner before this well-loved SF restaurant closes for good.
