This August, the de Young in Golden Gate Park welcomed an internationally touring exhibition dedicated to ancient Egyptian civilization. The exhibit, Treasures of the Pharaohs, features 130 artifacts from ancient Egypt, all on loan from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Luxor Museum.
The exhibit will be on view at the De Young until January 31, 2027, so there’s plenty of time to explore the exhibit. One of our favorite ways to see temporary exhibits at the de Young is during its after-hours events, when the museum opens for a late-night party with cocktails, entertainment, and the chance to explore the current exhibitions.
Late Night Editions: Treasures of the Pharaohs at the de Young
The de Young’s popular event, Late Night Editions, returns this August for the fascinating new exhibition. The after-hours party will take place on Thursday, August 20, from 6 to 10 pm. Attendees can expect live DJ sets in the museum paired with cocktails and other drinks. You can also grab a bite from several Off the Grid food trucks that will be parked in front of the museum.
A ticket to Late Night Editions gives you access to the new exhibition, Treasures of the Pharaohs, along with the museum’s permanent galleries. Late Night Editions is a 21-and-over event, so be sure to bring your ID. Tickets cost $35 and are expected to sell out.
Of course, if you can’t make it to the party, you can still see Treasures of the Pharaohs until January 2027.
