The beloved San Francisco Italian restaurant Flour + Water has been delighting dinners since 2009, when they first opened in the Mission District. Flour + Water’s pizzeria was an SF favorite, but in 2022 the restaurant group decided to leave the pizzeria’s mission location for a larger space that would better accommodate their needs.
Roughly a year after closing the original location, Flour + Water has reopened its pizzeria in a new North Beach location. The neighborhood is well known for its mouth-watering Italian food and many pizzerias, so it’s a fitting place to reignite the restaurant.
The menu features a selection of pies with both red and white sauces, salads, and appetizers. Plus, the restaurant recently added a new Fiero aperitif, a passionfruit and tequila slushie that is the perfect complement to a pizza on a summer night. Finally, you can treat yourself to soft serve with various toppings options to satisfy your sweet tooth.
The pizzeria also has a pizza shop option if you don’t have time for a sit-down meal. The pizza shop offers large slices or their whole, 13-inch pie. They also offer a new “big pie,” a square pizza cut into quarters. Dried pasta is also available if you want to try and recreate the Flour + Water magic at home.
The original restaurant, is known for its delicious pasta creations that combine Italian and Northern Californian influences to create its menu. The restaurant has been critically acclaimed for years and remains a favorite of SF diners. The pizzeria isn’t the only expansion to Flour + Water; the company also operates a cocktail bar in the mission called Trick Dog, which serves unique cocktails and classic bar bites with an upscale twist. The restaurant group also includes Penny Roma, a pasta-focused restaurant in the Mission District.
Flour + Water Pizzeria is located at 532 Columbus Ave and is open from 11:30 Am to 10:00 pm daily.
