Every September, San Francisco’s sprawling botanical garden is transformed into an open-air concert venue. The annual event, called Flower Piano, places pianos throughout the gardens, nestled under trees and in large meadows, hosting a series of free performances.

Starting on September 10, the San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park will host 11 days of free live music. A dozen pianos will be placed throughout the garden, where you can catch performances by local musicians or even play at an open piano between sets. The festival runs until September 20, boasting multiple performances every day. Now in its 11th year, Flower Piano brings a robust lineup of musicians and another delightful opportunity for visitors to explore the massive botanical garden.

Admission to the botanical garden is free for San Francisco residents, including during the concert series. If you are not a SF resident, the Flower Piano series will still be available under general admission tickets.
The event also offers the option to upgrade to a paid ticket to enjoy a lounge with special performances, access to bars and food, and comfortable seating. Lounge ticket holders also have priority access to the festival and access to additional bathrooms.
