Mark your calendars because, after a 4-year hiatus, Ben & Jerry’s is giving out free ice cream on Monday, April 3rd. They call the events “Free Cone Day” and it’s taking place at all Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop locations across the globe.
The annual tradition started in 1979 to celebrate the one-year anniversary of their first location in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont. The company views the celebration as a way to thank customers for their love and support for the past 40+ years.
“The company is setting its scooping sights on an all-new, all-time goal to make this Free Cone Day the biggest and best ever with a goal to serve well over a million Fairtrade scoops globally,” Ben & Jerry’s shared in a statement.
Unlike the typical “one per customer” promotions, the company has stated that anyone interested in a free scoop can get in line as many times as they like. Every flavor on the Scoop Shop menu is available in either a cup or cone. Keep an eye out for their brand new flavor, “Lights! Caramel! Action!,” which the company unveiled in 2023 with award-winning director, filmmaker, and TV producer Ava DuVernay.
Take advantage of Free Scoop Day on Monday, April 3rd from 12pm to 8pm at the following SF Scoop Shops:
- 1480 Haight Street (Haight-Ashbury)
- Pier 41 (Fisherman’s Wharf)
- Argonaut Hotel, 475 Jefferson Street (Fisherman’s Wharf)
