The free block parties are expanding in San Francisco, this time on Friday nights. Following the success of Downtown First Thursdays, the entertainment zone on Front Street will host Friday evening block parties on Fridays starting on May 30.
The free block party takes place on Front Street between California and Sacramento Streets in the state’s first entertainment zone. Local bars and restaurants, Harringtons, Schroeder’s & The Royal Exchange, are all participating in the recurring event. The party is intended to be a destination for a drink after work, with street-wide drink service. You can also expect a pop-up stage featuring local bands, lawn games, and a rotating selection of food vendors.

“We’re thrilled to launch Fridays on Front St. with Noise Pop, building on the incredible energy and success of our existing Entertainment Zone programming,” said Robbie Silver, President & CEO of the Downtown San Francisco Partnership. “Front Street has already proven it can host some of the most vibrant events in the city, and this new series takes it to the next level. Fridays on Front St. isn’t just a block party, it’s a new rhythm for downtown, pulsing with music, food, sports, and community. We’re proud to help shape this next chapter for the neighborhood and invite everyone to experience just how dynamic, welcoming, and uniquely San Francisco our downtown can be.”

Front Street hosted several other successful events, including Oktoberfest and St. Patrick’s Day parties, once it became an entertainment zone. Plus, you can stop by the zone on the first Thursday of every month for a western-themed block party. The block party is free, and no advance registration is required, but you can RSVP online in advance to help organizers prepare. The event will run from 4 to 9 pm on Friday, May 30th.
