This weekend, the Haight Ashbury is shutting down five blocks on Haight Street for the iconic free street fair, featuring two stages and dozens of local vendors. The Haight Ashbury Street Fair will take over the iconic neighborhood this Sunday, September 20, from 11 am to 5:30 pm.
Haight Ashbury Street Fair 2026

The iconic Haight Ashbury Street Fair first debuted in 1978, helmed by local merchants, community members, and famed politician Harvey Milk. The fair started as a block party, intended to celebrate the neighborhood’s revival, just over 10 years after the Summer of Love.
Over the years, the street fair has grown into a massive event. It spans multiple blocks on Haight Street, drawing major crowds enjoying the music, food, merchants, and art. The 2026 fair will cover 5 blocks between Stanyan and Masonic on Haight Street, with rows of vendors and an art walk featuring local creators.

The fair has two stages at either end, with a lineup featuring bands like The Dogs, The Passionate Ones, Crooked Stuff, and more. Vendors include the many businesses on the street, selling vintage clothing, gifts, and more. An art walk will feature live painting, portrait art, and handmade jewelry.
