San Franciscans will have an opportunity to celebrate Holi Color Fest from 3-5:30pm on Sunday, April 10 at The Crossing in San Francisco. This delightful and vibrant festival of colors celebrates the arrival of spring, and will feature music, dancing, and fantastic multicultural food and drink vendors.
Attendees can register to attend for $5, and white clothing is recommended so as to best show the fluorescent powders that will be thrown into the air and sprinkled around the festival space. You can also wear sunglasses to protect your eyes.
There will be special performances by Dhol Drums, The Golden Ticket Sounds, BollyX Dance Troop and Butterfly Stilt Walker. The Community Marketplace at The Crossing will be stocked with an amazing selection of multicultural food vendors.
The Crossing at East Cut has collaborated with TogetherSF and IDEATE SF to organize this exciting Holi festival as a way to support local businesses and enrich the city’s diverse cultural programming.
Holi is a Hindu color festival meant to celebrate the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It’s said to reenact a game played by the Hindu god Lord Krishna with his consort Radha and his milkmaids.
