That’s right, it is officially holiday time and the crafters of San Francisco are working at full throttle to sell their wares! Think Christmas markets with homemade pastries, decorations, and innovative products. Or holiday craft fairs with all the handmade jewelry, pottery, and art you could wish for.
We’ve gone ahead and rounded up some of the best holiday markets, craft fairs, and more on the calendar this winter. Stay tuned as we continue to update this article with more fun events.
1. Holiday Village in Hallidie Plaza
Daily through Dec. 24, 12-7pm at Hallidie Plaza in San Francisco
A month-long market with artisanal food and treats from local sellers, hand-crafted goods, holiday performances, and falling “snow.” It’s part of “Winter Wanderland at Union Square,” which includes the Union Square Ice Rink, Ornament Trail, and giant menorah.
2. The Great Dickens Christmas Fair
Weekends through Dec. 18, 10am-6pm, at Cow Palace in Daly City
A Christmas Carol-themed fair complete with Victorian garb and magical products from a bygone era. Enjoy hearty English cuisine, handcrafted gifts, and wholesome entertainment.
3. Creativity Explored Holiday Pop-Up
Weekends through Dec. 18, 8am-3pm, at the Ferry Building in San Francisco
A market of original drawings, paintings, ceramics and more by neurodiverse and disabled Bay Area artists.
4. HEAD WEST
- Dec. 17, 11am-4pm at Todos Santos Plaza in Concord
- Dec. 18, 11am-4pm at Hangar 1 Distillery in Alameda
This market pops up in locations around the Bay Area through the holiday season. They celebrate creators and artists as well as small brands, local shops, and local non-profits. *Note: Dec. 10 market at The Barlow in Sebastopol has been canceled, but The Barlow’s Dec. 11 market is still happening)
5. West Coast Craft
Dec. 17, 10am-3pm, at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco
*date changed from Dec. 10* A popular outdoor version of WCC with 100+ vendors selling artisan items. West Coast Craft is primarily inspired by the west coast lifestyle and local materials with products including ceramics, sculpture, fiber arts, textiles, home furnishings, paper goods, wood crafts, bath and body products, and more.
6. Magickal Market’s Yule Celebration
Dec. 17, 11am-5pm, at Al Fresco Dining Park in Alameda
Alameda’s Magickal Market and the Feathered Outlaw host a “Yule Celebration” complete with food, entertainment, and music .
7. UICC Christmas Boutique 2022
Dec. 17, 12-5pm at the United Irish Cultural Center of San Francisco
The United Irish Cultural Center’s 2022 Christmas boutique with local vendors selling chocolates, baked goods, jewelry, candles, soap, and Irish food and candy.
8. Telegraph Avenue Holiday Street Fair
Dec. 17-18, 23-24 on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley
Over 200 local artisans will take over Telegraph Ave between Dwight and Bancroft near the UC Berkeley campus. This is the 39th annual fair complete with fun decorations and a multicultural shopping atmosphere.
9. Agency Oakland’s Black & Brown Holiday Market
Dec. 22-23, 12-8pm at Agency Oakland (2150 Livingston St) in Oakland
A two-day market celebrating BIPOC creators of all disciplines including food, art, and crafts.
