California has plenty of great craft beer, and it’s easy to find a brewery or taprooms regularly packed with tourists and regulars alike. Now, one particularly popular Bay Area brewery, Humble Sea Co., is officially expanding into San Francisco.
The beloved brewery already has five locations and recently announced it will be adding a San Francisco taproom to their already expansive portfolio. The company’s other locations include Santa Cruz, Pacifica, Alameda, Santa Cruz, and Felton.
The new taproom is located at Pier 39, well known for the many tourists that flock to it every day, along with San Franciscans who work nearby. The brewery embraces everything beachy-related, heavily referencing surf culture in their brand, so it makes sense they would want to secure a waterfront location as they expand into SF. Humble Sea Brewing hasn’t announced an opening date for the new San Francisco taproom yet.
The brewery was founded in 2015 by childhood friends from Santa Cruz. The now impressive brewery started with one barrel in a family member’s barn, but soon it grew into a Bay Area sensation with multiple locations. Head brewer Nick Pavlina first began home brewing in 2009, and after several years, he brought his friends to take Humble Sea Brewing to the next level and open the Santa Cruz brewery and taproom.
The brewery describes their beer as soft and happy, making barrel aged beers, stouts, and lagers. Locations will often offer different food trucks to accompany their iconic beer, and you can check their website for the schedule at each location. They brewery even opened the Humble Sea Tavern in Fulton, partnering Bread Boy to create some mouthwatering burgers.
