The Nottinghill star has found a new neighborhood.
Julia Roberts has been a fan of the Bay since her Eat, Pray, Love days. Some say her love affair with The City may even date back to her relationship with Benjamin Pratt. Either way, it’s fair to say that she has impeccable taste and her latest real estate investment in Presidio Heights is a testament to that.
The neighborhood is understated and upscale, offering respite from the Bay Area buzz. The Presidio’s alluring hiking trails and parks are just a stone’s throw away so don’t be surprised if you bump in the Nottinghill actor mid-hike.
The five-floor house was designed in 1907-’08 by Sylvain Schnaittacher, making it over a century old. The Victorian-style home five levels of elegant living spaces have five bedrooms, A 1,000 bottle wine room, 4.5 bathrooms in about 6,200 square feet, according to the Sotheby’s listing.
Roberts bought the home from Brodie Cobb, a competitive cyclist and founder of the financial services firm The Presidio Group. According to records, he initially purchased the home for $1.88 million in 1997.
