Now that’s a true friend.
A man in TP related crisis was rescued today by his friend who delivered a single roll of toilet paper via drone. Ian Chan and his friend David Chen have been in quarantine in their separate San Francisco homes since the city locked down earlier this month. When Chan realized he was out of toilet paper, he reached out to Chen, who he knew had a drone.
When you need that t.p. but Amazon is out, and you’re not supposed to leave your house; tech San Francisco doesn’t fail. Thank you @chenosaurus for the speedy cross city delivery- I owe you one 🧻 pic.twitter.com/Y4OZzoyCWH

Not long after, Chen’s drone made its journey through San Francisco skies to rescue Chan’s bathroom situation. In the video, you can see it struggling against the wind as it makes it way to Chan’s balcony where he’s able to rip the painter’s tape carrying the role and receive his package.
Here’s the footage from the drone’s perspective, an addendum Chan added to his Twitter after the rescue mission went viral.
Ok, addendum. Now with both angles. For science. cc @bloomey @cg @BWJones pic.twitter.com/eP6kDyEyKB

Chan tweeted, “When you need that t.p. but Amazon is out, and you’re not supposed to leave your house; tech San Francisco doesn’t fail. Thank you @chenosaurus for the speedy cross-city delivery- I owe you one.”
Crisis averted! Now if that’s not true friendship, we don’t know what is.
While the coronavirus is a serious issue, one Chen didn’t want to take away from, it’s nice to have a bit of levity during these difficult times.
