The second annual Mill Valley Musical Festival will celebrate music and arts at the base of Mount Tam on May 13-14. In addition to the diverse and exciting music lineup, guests can enjoy the best of Mill Valley’s local food vendors and amazing art installations, among many other attractions.
Saturday’s event is headlined by alternative/indie band Michael Franti & Spearhead. Other performers include Grammy-nominated R&B, soul, and hip hop group Tank and the Bangas; seven-piece pop and R&B band The Dip; bluesy Black Joe & The Honeybears; and psychedelic African rock band Orchestra Gold.
Rock band Cake will headline on Sunday. Other performers that day include Remain in Light, whose members Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew were formerly in Talking Heads; R&B singer Durand Jones; Appalachian folk singer Valerie June; and rock band The Alive starring local teens from Tamalpais High School.
Guests are encouraged to bring the whole family to this all-ages music festival, which will feature a roller rink, kids’ activities, immersive art installations, and fantastic food and drink vendors. Don’t forget to check out the Manzanita Market, which has an awesome lineup of artisans and craft vendors from all over the Bay Area.
The Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce launched this fun boutique music festival in 2022 as a way to bring more visitors to their beautiful mountain town. It takes place outdoors on the sprawling Friends Field next to the Mill Valley Community Center. Single-day general admission tickets start at $139, two-day GA tickets start at $259, and there are discounted $45 add-on tickets for children under 12.
