There is plenty of excellent vintage and antique shopping in the Bay Area, from curated boutiques to estate sales in historic homes. If you love a good secondhand gem or antique find, we recommend checking out the Alameda Point Antiques Faire, the largest antiques fair in Northern California.
Alameda Point Antiques Faire
On the first Sunday of every month, Alameda Point is transformed into a massive outdoor antique fair. The sprawling market features over 800 exhibitors, and it regularly draws crowds of eager shoppers. The fair began in 1998 and has continued as a popular monthly market for over 20 years. All the items on sale are 20 years old or older, and shoppers can expect home decor, furniture, art, clothing, and jewelry.
The waterfront market is located on Alameda Point, which is on the eastern shore of the bay. It offers beautiful views of San Francisco and the Bay Bridge. If it happens to be raining during the first Sunday of the month, organizers reschedule the fair for another time within the same month.
You can also expect food trucks and picnic tables to grab a bite after a long afternoon of shopping. Shopping carts and flat carts are available for free to shoppers as well.
What to know before you go

The fair is ticketed, with prices depending on how early you want to go. The earliest tickets allow entry at 6 am for $20. From there, ticket prices go down in increments of $5, with afternoon entry from 12 to 3 only $5. Of course, if you want the best selection at the fair, we recommend getting there early.
Alameda Point is approximately a 30-minute drive from San Francisco, depending on traffic. It is just across the Bay Bridge, and it offers free parking for shoppers. The closest BART station is 3 miles from the market.
The next Alameda Antiques Faire will be on Sunday, June 7. You can learn more about the Alameda Point Antiques Faire here.
