The San Francisco International Film Festival will return in 2026 on April 24, featuring a series of exciting screenings and events. On opening night, Olivia Wilde’s latest film, The Invite, will be screened at the historic Castro Theater.
The Invite was a major hit when it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, so this is an exciting opportunity for San Franciscans to see the movie before it is officially released in theaters this June. The film is directed by Olivia Wilde, and she is expected to attend a post-screening Q&A. The screening is at 8:30 pm, and tickets are still available.
Fittingly, The Invite is set in San Francisco, where two couples meet up for dinner. The comedy movie stars Penelope Cruz, Olivia Wilde, Edward Norton, and Seth Rogen. Wilde previously directed the hit films Booksmart in 2019 and Don’t Worry Darling in 2022.
The opening night will also feature a screening of Late Fame at the Castro Theater, starting at 5:30 pm. The film is directed by Kent Jones and stars Willem Dafoe and Greta Lee.
