AURA: An Immersive Odyssey of Breathtaking Proportions has officially arrived at Grace Cathedral, marking the acclaimed multimedia experience’s first-ever U.S. edition after captivating more than two million visitors across Paris, Montreal, and Quebec City.

The nighttime spectacle transforms the historic cathedral into a 360-degree canvas through monumental projection mapping, original orchestral music, and immersive lighting effects that dance across its soaring Gothic arches.
Everything to know about AURA at Grace Cathedral
During the 45-minute experience, guests are invited to explore the cathedral using an interactive web app that highlights architectural details and hidden stories throughout the building before leading into the main show.
The night begins with a live string quartet performance, followed by the multimedia show. During the performance, swirling storms, blooming flowers, crashing waves, celestial skies, and vibrant colors unfold across the walls and vaulted ceilings, creating an immersive narrative inspired by humanity’s relationship with nature.
AURA is the latest creation from Montreal-based Moment Factory, the creative studio behind immersive experiences at landmarks including Barcelona’s Sagrada Família and Las Vegas’ Sphere, as well as projects with artists like Billie Eilish and U2.
About Grace Cathedral
Perched atop Nob Hill, Grace Cathedral has been one of San Francisco’s defining landmarks for generations. Built after the 1906 earthquake destroyed the city’s original cathedral, the Neo-Gothic structure was completed in 1964 and remains one of the largest Episcopal cathedrals in the United States.
The cathedral houses one of the country’s finest collections of stained glass windows, with more than 7,000 square feet of colorful glass depicting both biblical stories and influential figures from science, literature, and social justice.
