San Francisco has plenty of amazing bars; from swanky cocktail lounges to classic dives, you’re guaranteed to find a good drink no matter the vibe. This week, two of SF’s favorite bars were honored on the international level, ranking among the top 50 bars in North America.
Pacific Cocktail Haven was once again honored, and True Laurel was included for the first time. Pacific Cocktail Haven ranked #38 and True Laurel #30 on the prestigious list.
Pacific Cocktail Haven
Fondly called P.C.H., the bar was founded in 2016 by acclaimed bartender Kevin Diedrich. The chic bar is located in Union Square and regularly has a line forming outside on Friday and Saturday nights. They’re well known for creative cocktails, but their classics are just as good. The bar has won the “Best American Cocktail Bar” Tales of the Cocktail awards and was recently announced as a finalist for the James Beard Outstanding Bar award. The bar’s accolades are well deserved, with locals and visitors alike consistently flocking to try their now-famous cocktails.
True Laurel
This Mission District bar is from the renowned team of Lazy Bear, so it’s no surprise it’s a hit. The modern cocktail bar stands out because of its eco-friendly approach, winning the Ketel One Most Sustainable Bar Award earlier this year. The menu is filled with creative cocktails such as Pea-casso, which features snap peas and citrus, and the Trash Smash with Creme de Cacao, tequila, and raspberry. Plus, they have some delicious non-alcoholic drinks on their menu. True Laurel also serves brunch and dinner, and you can even pick up their food for takeout. You can make a reservation online or walk in.
If you haven’t tried these two iconic SF cocktail bars, we definitely recommend it.
