Decorating and design enthusiasts are flocking to a historic, Queen-Anne style Victorian home in San Francisco this May. The historic house located in Pacific Heights has been completely transformed by Bay Area designers as part of an annual decorator showcase. The showcase is a decades-long tradition in San Francisco that draws national attention for its stunning display of the best Bay Area decorators.

Design and architecture firms are invited to reimagine a room within the sprawling, 10,000 square foot home in Pacific Heights. The historic house was originally built in 1897 for the Anspacher family, before it was owned for 60 years by architect Herbert P. McLaughlin.
Each designer brings a unique artistic aesthetic, creating beautiful, immersive rooms. The result is an eclectic yet stunning collection of rooms, a visual feast for design enthusiasts. Rooms are decorated with ornate wallpapers, bright floral prints, and even hand-painted murals. You can also spot bold marble and rooms drenched in color.

“Bringing this year’s Showcase home to life has been a truly rewarding and extraordinary experience,” said Stephanie Yee, Executive Director of San Francisco Decorator Showcase. “Our designers, donors, sponsors, volunteers and builders dedicated incredible creativity and effort to every detail, working long hours and weekends under an extremely tight deadline. The result is a home that beautifully balances historic character with a contemporary vision — all while supporting the students and bringing the community together.”
