Last year, San Francisco’s Muni released a holiday sweater , and it was a major success as San Franciscans scrambled to buy the classic sweater, which featured cable cars, landmark buildings, including Coit Tower, combined with the iconic Muni logo. The massive success of the sweater led SFMTA to create the Muni Store, which is back with another holiday collection.
The 2025 holiday sweaters are brighter than ever, featuring a patchwork design with blue, green, yellow, red, and orange. Like the first holiday sweater, you can expect to see many San Francisco references on the sweater. Classic Victorian homes make an appearance, municipal buses, famous landmarks, and even animals you can see around the city, including Golden Gate Park’s Bison. The holiday collection isn’t limited to sweaters; you can also shop a range of products.

The patchwork print is also available on wrapping paper and pajama sets (youth and adult), and you can even buy a wooden toy train modeled after a Muni vehicle. Finally, you can recreate the Muni map through a 1,000+ piece puzzle. The online store offers other merchandise available year-round, including bucket hats, socks, t-shirts, and more. The design is created by Muni’s in-house designers, who drew inspiration from the city’s most iconic landmarks.

You can also expect to see the patchwork print around San Francisco, as the 49 Van Ness/Mission bus has been wrapped in the print for the season. SFMTA plans to wrap more buses in the festive print as the season continues. The holiday collection is on sale now, and organizers recommend placing an order by December 19 if you want to receive your package by Christmas.
