San Francisco experienced an unusual heat wave this March, with temperatures reaching the 80s during the week of March 22. While the temperatures have cooled, SF still has a string of sunny days, with temperatures often in the 70s. Now, after a long streak of sunshine, there is finally some rain forecast for this week.
Starting on Tuesday, the National Weather Service is predicting a 40 percent chance of rain. The high will be 67 degrees, and the chance of rain will continue into Tuesday night. There is also a 40% chance of rain on Wednesday, with a 70% chance of rain on Wednesday night. Then, the rain may continue on Thursday until 11 am.
The rest of the week shows clear skies, with the weekend showing sun and highs in the mid 70s. So, while there isn’t a major storm coming, San Franciscans can expect some rainy days during the week.
Things to do on a rainy day in SF
While the rain will be short-lived, there are plenty of great things to do in San Francisco during a stormy day. We recommend exploring one of San Francisco’s many museums, particularly the recently opened Monet and Venice exhibition at the de Young. Another great rainy-day activity is heading to a movie theater to see a movie. hunting for the perfect second-hand gem at one of SF’s many vintage and thrift shops.
