
San Franciscans woke up to plenty of rain this morning after forecasts of an Atmospheric river. The storm has caused multiple weather hazards in the area, including a flood watch and a severe thunderstorm warning with 70 mph of wind predicted in the San Francisco area. The heavy rain has also caused road closures in the NorCal Area due to flooding and mudslides. See the roads currently closed due to the storm below:
Highway 101: northbound Highway 101 at Arata Lane in the Windsor area due to significant flooding
Highway 1: Highway 1 in Marin County between Bear Valley Road and Point Reyes Station
Highway 9: Full Closure of the highway north of the junction with upper Highway 236 in Santa Cruz County due to downed wires in the road.

Safety measures during a storm
Cal Transit advises drivers to stay off the roads unless necessary. If you see a flooded road ahead of you, they advise you to turn around instead of risking driving into the water. Plus, do not touch or get near any downed power lines on the road or sidewalk.
