The Ferry Building is home to a thriving marketplace, with many local businesses, retail vendors, and popular restaurants. The historic building is also known to host many events every month, including free work out classes, mahjong meetups, and more.
This May, the Ferry Building will host the spring tea festival. The International Tea Festival will take place on May 2 and 3 with over 30 local and international tea vendors in attendance. The festival will run from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday, and attendees can expect numerous tea tastings and conversations with vendors.
Tickets start at $13.65 and include unlimited tastings with a porcelain tasting cup. You can also expect lectures on both days on topics like cooking with tea, the history of tea, and more. Some of the vendors in attendance include PekoeTea Edinburgh, Pure Puer Tea, and Silk & Jade Tea House.
About the Ferry Building

The Ferry Building first opened in 1898, and at its peak, up to 50,000 people a day traveled by ferry through the terminal. Now, over 125 years after it was built, the building is still an active ferry terminal along with a thriving marketplace. You can explore many popular businesses, including Dandelion Chocolate and Fort Point Beer Company. You can also explore some of the many retail shops, like Epicurean Trader, Book Passage, and Heath Ceramics. While you’re at the tea festival, we recommend grabbing something to eat at one of the restaurants like Gott’s Roadside or Hog Island Oyster Company.
Don’t miss the International Spring Tea Festival on May 2 and 3, 2026. You can see the full list of vendors and lectures along with tickets for the festival here.
