Get ready to dance, SF. Skrillex and Fred again.. have announced a surprise concert in Civic Center Plaza this Saturday. The pop-up concert begins at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1st. General Admission tickets are currently on sale now. The tickets start at $79.50, including fees, and the event is for those 18 and older.
Brought to SF by Another Planet Entertainment, the concert was casually announced via X by Skrillex via a Tweet. The event is good news for Downtown San Francisco, with thousands expected to attend the Civic Center Plaza. Plus, SF has a long history of dance culture, so it’s only fitting for the rave to take place in SF.
Skrillex and Fred again.. began collaborating after meeting as fellow producers for Ed Sheeran’s projects. They first intersected on Sheeran’s 2019 album, “No.6 Collaborations Project,” where they worked together on the track “Take Me Back to London” featuring Stormzy. From there, Fred again… and Skrillex started playing around with creating “Rumble” and even rented a house in the summer of 2022 together while Skrillex finished an album and Fred again… prepared for his now iconic Boiler Room set.
Since then, Skrillex and Fred again.. have become renowned for their electrifying shows together, winning over audiences with their seamless blend of genres and high-energy performances. They have delivered historic sets, such as their closing act at Coachella alongside Four Tet and a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden.
This isn’t the only surprise concert in SF this year, with Green Day shocking the city with a 2-hour show at the Fillmore. The intimate show was at one of SF’s most iconic venues and sold out in just a few minutes.
Tickets are going fast, with thousands trying to get tickets to the coveted show.
