The San Francisco Ritz-Carlton has brought back a charming summer special, the Solaire Terrasse, in collaboration with iconic Veuve Clicquot. The Solaire Terrasse opened on June 1 and will run until October 1, 2023.
Located on a spacious terrace tucked away from city noise, visitors are greeted by striped yellow umbrellas with matching patio seating. Live music accompanies the peaceful terrace that is surrounded by well-maintained gardens featuring yellow roses and even an herb garden.
The menu features various options of Veuve Clicquot, including the iconic Brut Yellow Label, as well as assorted cocktails made with classic champagne. Guests can also order a well-stocked charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, and fruits to pair with their champagne selections.
An appetizing seafood tower is offered for guests craving something more filling. The beautifully plated tower has shrimp, crab legs, and lobster tails. A signature caviar service is also on the menu, complete with potato chips and toasted points.
The summer experience is topped with gelato scooped from a perfectly adorable cart–plus, the menu includes vegan gelato options. If you want to bring your beloved pups, the pop-up even offers MISHKA dog cakes available for pre-order so your dog can partake in the fun.
This year, an afternoon tea option has been added on the last Sunday of each month. The Madame Clicquot Afternoon Tea features assorted sandwiches for a luxurious experience.
From the terrace itself to the menu and stylish finishing touches, it’s easy to see why this pop-up is backed by popular demand. The Ritz-Carlton brings its signature touch of elegance and a delicious summer menu that is perfectly paired with the iconic champagne.
A long history of champagne
Veuve Clicquot has been creating champagne for over 200 years and was initially founded in 1772. The French wine house was taken under the leadership of the widow Madame Clicquot in 1805. She is credited with considerable breakthroughs in the champagne industry, including creating a method called riddling, which led to the creation of the first vintage champagne. Today, Veuve Clicquot’s world-renowned Brut Yellow Label is the house’s signature.
It’s only fitting that such a celebrated champagne like Veuve Clicquot to partner with a classic San Francisco institution such as The Ritz-Carlton. The iconic hotel occupies a 1909 Neoclassical building perched atop Nob Hill with beautiful city views.
The Solaire Terrasse is open from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until October 1, 2023. The Ritz-Carlton is located at 600 Stockton St.
