according to creator Noah FinerA whimsical interactive story and quiz that tells you which SF Muni line you are on has been gaining attention with San Franciscans lately. The Muni personality quiz has quickly gone viral, garnering tens of thousands of responses in just one week, according to creator Noah Finer. The quiz starts with a prompt describing how you would navigate getting home one night, asking you San Francisco-related questions, such as what you would do in a robotaxi when your phone dies.
The quiz is charmingly whimsical, featuring illustrations with each question. The questions take you through a mini adventure getting home, including a thunderstorm, a riddle, and taking an unfamiliar Muni line. The questionnaire has a total of 17 questions, ultimately assigning you your very own muni line. Each results page comes with traits, transit friends and enemies, a pickup line, and more. It also tells you what percentage of other people get the same line as you if you want to compare with friends.

The quiz was made by software engineer Noah Finer, who spent months working on the project. A link to the quiz was then unveiled in the Powell Street BART Station, leading thousands of users to try the quiz. The advertisement was funded by Francisco San, a $100,000 fund with the goal to make SF “more whimsical”. So far, the fund has spent over $41,000 on various projects, including a run where runners give people flowers, scavenger hunts, a pasta party, and many more. The fund is anonymous, and if you have a unique project in mind, you can fill out an online form to apply for funding. The largest grants awarded are $19,000, unless it’s for a non-profit.
So, if you’ve ever wondered what Muni line you are or just want to see what all the hype is about, you can take the quiz here.
