The Mission District’s ever-changing bar, Trick Dog, is known for changing menus (and themes) every six months. The bar is not just popular but highly acclaimed, with multiple James Beard Award nominations, and it frequently tops lists for the best bars in the country.
Now, the bar is celebrating its 25th menu with Wacky Wrestlers of Trick Dog, a wrestling-themed menu with 16 new drinks. New cocktails include the Macho Man, made with teak Sauce-infused Sweet Vermouth, and the Stone Cold Steve Austin, which is a crisp, vegetable-infused martini. The bar is known for its non-alcoholic cocktail options, which continue with the wrestling-themed menu. The Diamond Dallas Page is a non-alcoholic fizz with thyme, lemon, and egg whites.

“We’ve been sitting on this idea since 2017, and as with many of our menus, the inspiration to execute it now coincides with the right intersection of timing and the team’s excitement,” says Josh Harris, founder. “Our bar manager, Travis, grew up watching wrestling with his dad and uncle and is incredibly enthusiastic about this kind of entertainment. And after working with Lily Therens on three previous menus, we knew she was the other perfect person to help us bring this idea to fruition.”
Along with creative cocktails, you can also sample their food menu, which will now include desserts along with the usual bites and entrées. Trick Dog is also known for their detailed menus, and this iteration is a trifold wrestling belt with hand-drawn illustrations for each drink. Trick Dog first opened in 2013 and has remained a staple cocktail bar in San Francisco for years.
Trick Dog is located at 3010 20th St, San Francisco, and you can make reservations online.
