Outside Lands and Lollapalooza ticket holders faced major schedule changes last year when Tyler, The Creator dropped out of both music festivals due to “personal reasons.” For those who were left disappointed at the last-minute change, we come bearing good news: Tyler, The Creator is officially confirmed to headline both Outside Lands and Lollapalooza in 2025.
Here in San Francisco, the Outside Lands 2025 lineup just dropped today after much anticipation. Tyler, The Creator tops the festival poster to the delight of fans — and he’s in good company with major artists including Hozier, Doja Cat, Glass Animals, Doechii, and more. You can see the full lineup announcement here for the festival happening from August 8-10, 2025 in SF’s Golden Gate Park. Three-day tickets go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, March 26th at 10am.
Over in Chicago, the Lollapalooza lineup dropped a week ago on March 18th. Tyler, The Creator is headlining alongside Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Doechii, and more. Lollapalooza is scheduled for July 31-Aug 3, 2025 in Grant Park — you can read Secret Chicago’s take on the Lollapalooza lineup here.
Who replaced Tyler, The Creator last year?
Many fans were disheartened to see Tyler, The Creator abandon his Day 2 slot at last year’s Outside Lands festival, even though Sabrina Carpenter was quickly confirmed to replace him. Despite some initial pushback from the fans, Carpenter stepped up to the plate with a memorable performance featuring her summer hits “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.” Over at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Megan Thee Stallion took over Tyler’s slot, which was also ultimately well-received.
“I hate saying this, but I have to cancel Lollapalooza and Outside Lands,” wrote Tyler, The Creator on socials ahead of the 2024 festivals. “I made a commitment that I can no longer keep, and that bums me out knowing how excited folks were.”
What’s the reaction to this year’s Outside Lands lineup?
Tyler, The Creator still has not commented on his 2025 return to either festival, but fans are stoked about the recent Outside Lands lineup drop. Early comments on the Instagram announcement are positive: “Dare I say… this is one of the best it’s been in years,” wrote one commenter. “Lineup is STACKED,” wrote another.
