Enjoy a car-free Grant Avenue on Saturdays and Sundays through December 2021.
When’s the last time you spent a weekend in Chinatown? The famous hub for San Francisco’s AAPI community is an essential stop on any trip around the City, but you might have missed its awesome Walkway Weekends programming, which previously ended in June. The program is put on by Sunday Streets SF, a nonprofit organization meant to bring free outdoor events to San Francisco ever year.
This event in Chinatown consists of a car-free Grant Avenue, from California to Washington Streets. Every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-5pm, you can stroll through this historic neighborhood for some shopping, a refreshing cup of boba, delicious dumplings, and much more.
LionDanceME puts on an awesome Lion Dance performance at 3pm on Saturdays and 4pm on Sundays at Grant Ave and Commercial St. They were finalists on America’s Got Talent Season 7, so you know you’re in for a great show!
Make sure to set aside a weekend soon to enjoy Chinatown without having to dodge cars or cross busy streets. The relaxing, fun environment created by Walkway Weekends is here through the rest of 2021, and sure to bring awesome memories and experiences!
