Beware, passengers, there’s a murderer in your midst! Don your finest period attire and take a trip aboard the vintage Napa Valley Wine Train, whose antique Pullman cars date back to 1864. It’s the perfect setting for the train’s massively popular Murder Mystery dinner theater series, which has just added new dates through October.
Passengers are encouraged to dress in accordance with the theme so as to fully immerse themselves in one of the exciting, funny, and captivating storylines. Here are the upcoming themes and dates.

- Midnight Masquerade (Masquerade ball attire) – August 25
- Wizards of Wine Country (Harry Potter-inspired attire) – October 6, 13, 20, 27)
Follow along with the interactive storyline while enjoying a multi-course gourmet meal made with local seasonal ingredients. Of course, the train will have a superb wine selection aboard, provided by the surrounding countryside’s famous wineries.
The dinner theatre is completely immersive, meaning that the performers are seated around you and you must be on high alert for characters’ alibis, motives, and more clues. Work together with your fellow passengers to solve the mystery and apprehend the suspect before the train arrives at the station, and they’re gone for good!
The Napa Valley Wine Train dates back all the way to 1864, and stepping aboard feels like traveling to another century. The antique Pullman rail cars have been carefully restored to their former glory in order to evoke the luxury of early-20th-century train travel. The vintage train is amazingly elegant and luxurious, with plush chairs, brass accents, glass etchings and lux tableware to supplement the surrounding California countryside.
Prices for the Murder Mystery series range from $495-555 and book out months in advance, so be sure to take a good look at their calendar for a chance to participate.
