While promoting her latest film, The Drama, a fan asked Zendaya where her favorite place to eat in Oakland is, and Zendaya revealed local pizza shop Arizmendi was her favorite Oakland restaurant. The video was recorded by Sarah Muzhaqi and shared by Arizmendi Bakery in Lakeshore on Instagram.
Arizmendi is a worker-owned cooperative that started in Oakland, opening a Lakeshore location in 1997. The bakery was a success, which inspired another location, also a worker-owned operation, to open in San Francisco in 2000.
Since then, Arizmendi has remained a popular bakery, offering fresh bread and delicious pizza made with their signature thin, sourdough crust. Each day, the bakery offers a different pizza, along with various specials.
Arizmendi’s menu offers a whole or half pizza that changes daily, either hot or lightly baked. You can also expect various baked goods like chocolate chip cookies, sourdough croissants, and daily scones. The bakery also offers a selection of breads, including classic sourdough options and baguettes. Arizmendi also offers fresh Focaccia with toppings like tomatoes and olives, and daily options.
Zendaya was recently spotted visiting her favorite hometown frozen yogurt shop in Berkeley. The actress was seen walking around Berkeley with a Yogurt Park cup, causing many fans to reminisce about the popular frozen yogurt shop. Yogurt Park is often frequented by students at Berkeley and has been open since 1977.
Zendaya is currently promoting her latest film with co-star Robert Pattinson. The Drama is a comedy-drama film featuring Zendaya and Pattinson as an engaged couple. The movie is set to come out this week, on April 3.
