Bad Bunny just announced his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour, which will cruise through cities in Europe, Australia, Latin America, and Japan starting in November and lasting through next summer. As thousands rush to claim tickets to the 23-stadium tour, local fans are left reminiscing about his performances at the Oakland Coliseum in 2022 and Chase Center in 2024—and incidentally, where he ate while in town. Here’s a little refresher about his 2022 visit to Sol Food in San Rafael.
The popular Sol Food restaurant chain has locations in San Rafael, Mill Valley, and Petaluma, all serving flavorful and authentic Puerto Rican cuisine seven days a week from breakfast to dessert.
The story goes that Bad Bunny’s team called up the San Rafael location before arriving and simply said, “We have 80 Puerto Ricans.” When a convoy of black SUVs rolled up with a mysterious guest dressed in head-to-toe Louis Vuitton, the staff realized it was Bad Bunny, who would play Oakland Coliseum a few days later.
We’d hazard a guess that the singer and his entourage enjoyed their meal, because Sol Food posted an image of Bad Bunny posing with kitchen staff shortly afterward.
Sol Food owner Sol Hernandez told SFGATE that Bad Bunny ordered the mofongo relleno de camarones, a saucy prawn dish served with mashed green plantain, salad, and avocado.
And yes, three years later, Sol Food is still serving the mouthwatering combo dish at $18.95 for three prawns and $32.95 for six.
You may need to visit more than once to enjoy all the irresistible dishes on Sol Food’s menu. While Bad Bunny’s combo choice is a no-brainer, Yelpers are also partial to the pollo al horno, which features tender baked chicken thighs alongside your choice of P.R. fries or fried plantains, plus other sides.
The bistec sandwich is a close second, with juicy sliced steak piled on a bed of sautéed onion, lettuce, pink mayo, and fried plantains.
While Sol Food had the honor of serving Bad Bunny’s entourage 3 years ago, the singer also came through town in March 2024 when he played San Francisco’s Chase Center. From his Instagram stories, followers were able to deduce that he enjoyed sushi at Kibatsu in the Lower Haight, burgers at The Melt on Market Street, and a game of pool at Family Billiards on Geary.
While Bad Bunny’s 2025-26 Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour has not announced any U.S. stops, hopeful fans are speculating that North American stops may be revealed in the future. For now, there’s plenty of time to relax and enjoy a plate of mofongo con camarones.
