Golden Gate Park regularly hosts free concerts at its historic bandshell. The venue hosts over 100 free shows every year, including singer-songwriters and reggae on Sundays, among other special events. This Halloween, the Bandshell is hosting a free, family-friendly concert.
Halloween at the Bandshell
On October 31, the Bandshell will host Charity and the JAMband, a family-friendly group performing from 12 to 2 p.m. The show will have sing-alongs and a variety of songs perfect for families. Costumes are welcome at the free concert, and you can also explore the educational California Academy of Sciences after the show.
The free Halloween concert is just one of many in the coming weeks, with regular concerts happening every week. Shows are scheduled through early November, so there are plenty of chances to enjoy live music in the park.
About the Golden Gate Park Bandshell
The Spreckles Temple of Music, often called the Bandshell, is over 100 years old and was donated by SF businessman Claus Spreckels. The current bandstand is actually the third iteration, after large crowds required a bigger venue. The Bandshell opened in 1900, when 75,000 people attended the 50th anniversary of California entering the Union. Today, the Bandshell still hosts plenty of concerts, drawing people of all ages to the scenic music concourse for free shows.
