The 7th Annual Battlestar Classic Beerfest and Cornhole Tournament invites you to drink beer and play the game of cornhole on the deck of a WWII aircraft carrier. The Battlestar Classic will be held on Saturday, September 9th from 10am to 5pm on the USS Hornet, docked in Alameda.
The event welcomes any team of two who’d like to compete for a $100 total entry fee. Single tickets are available at $56.50 for non-competitors who’d like to enjoy the Beerfest, and there are $20 spectator tickets for those who just want to spend a day aboard the Hornet. The Beerfest will feature beer from beloved local breweries, delicious food, and live music.
The event is organized by The USS Hornet, the CA Draft Tech, and the California Cornhole Association, with proceeds going to support the USS Hornet Air and Space Museum. The USS Hornet Museum offers lectures, historical tours, and other educational events throughout the year.
The USS Hornet was built during WWII and was part of the US Navy’s primary offensive in the Pacific. The Hornet later served as the recovery ship for Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 astronauts as they returned from the Moon. The museum is part of the Smithsonian affiliate program and works to promote understanding of history, science, technology, and service.
