This Sunday, September 1, Berkeley will host the fourth annual Bizerkeley Food Festival, the largest vegan food festival in Northern California. Erika Hazel, the event’s founder, aims to showcase the diversity and creativity of vegan cuisine.
The Bizerkeley Food Festival is a celebration of vegan food, culture, and community. The festival brings together over 100 vendors, offering a wide range of vegan food, beverages, lifestyle products, and wellness offerings. Here’s what to expect:
- 100 vendors: Taste your way through a wide range of vegan food and beverage options. With over 40 food and drink vendors, including local favorites like All Pau Berkeley, Chef J Redd, and The Vegan Hood Chefs.
- Live music: Enjoy live musical and dance performances throughout the day.
- Family activities: The festival is family-friendly, with activities like a bounce house, corn hole, and giant Jenga available in the Game Zone.
- Silent auction and animal sanctuary support: Participate in a silent auction with all proceeds going towards the Herd and Flock Animal Sanctuary, allowing visitors to bid on unique prizes while supporting a great cause.
What to expect at the festival grounds
The festival will be divided into different sections, each offering a unique experience:
- Tomorrow World: Discover innovative vegan products and ideas from leaders.
- Creature Country: Interact with adoptable animals from local shelters.
- Beer Territory: For those over 21, enjoy a selection of alcoholic beverages.
- University Ave USA: Features Berkeley-based businesses and products.
