San Francisco has numerous well-attended night markets that pop up in various neighborhoods throughout the city almost every month. This Friday, the popular Chinatown Night Market is returning to Grant Avenue for another night of food, entertainment, and community.
Chinatown Night Market August 2026
This month’s market is on Friday, August 14, starting at 5 pm. Five blocks on Grant Avenue in Chinatown are closed to cars, with the various vendors lining the street. The market runs until 9 pm, although you can explore many of the popular bars in the neighborhood that stay open later into the night. The market will feature over 30 food vendors, selling dim sum, sushi, boba tea, and more.
Along with the plethora of food, you can also explore a beer and wine garden, lion dancing, and a meditation booth. The market is a wonderful opportunity to explore the historic neighborhood and try some of the many small businesses while you’re there. If you can’t make the August event, there are night markets scheduled on the second Friday of the month through October.
The markets are well attended, so expect some crowds and traffic around the area. We recommend taking public transit, as parking in the area is very limited. The market is organized by BeChinatown, which is a group of community members with government and corporate sponsors that aims to strengthen the SF Chinatown community and economy.
