If you’ve been to SF recently, there’s no doubt you’ve seen the countless run clubs growing throughout the city. And now, a new run club is coming to the city, but this time with a twist. Diplo’s Run Club starts as a morning 5k on the water and ends with a music festival featuring the famous DJ himself. Diplo, known for his dance hits, has played at major festivals across the globe, including Coachella. The musician isn’t new to running; he recently ran the LA Marathon in 2023.
The San Francisco run club is scheduled for September 8, starting bright and early at 9 am. Runners can check in at 7:00 am, and the first opener, J. ESPINOSA, will begin at 8:00 am. The course starts near Pier 30/32, loops around the Embarcadero, around Oracle Park, and finishes near the Pier once again.
The route is scenic, featuring SF’s famous waterfront and views of the Bay Bridge. DJ Vice is scheduled to play at 9:30 am, and Diplo will take the stage at 10:45 am after the runners have finished the 5K.
The run club is also making a stop in Seattle on September 14 at Gasworks Park. Tickets for the event start at $116.44 for general admission and over $200 for the VIP package. Runners can also join a “virtual 5k experience” for $127.54. One notable perk of the VIP package is that participants do not have to pick up their race packet in advance on Saturday the 7th.
Ticketsfor the show are still available. However, prices are expected to rise as we get closer to the event. San Francisco also has plenty of other exciting music events coming up, including a free concert at Civic Center Plaza later in September, neighborhood performances every weekend, and lively shows at Downtown First Thursdays.
