This weekend, the cutest festival is returning to Duboce Park for an afternoon filled with dogs. DogFest is an SF tradition, started over 15 years ago as a fundraiser for McKinley Elementary School. Now, almost two decades later, the event has turned into a highly anticipated carnival-style festival for dogs.
The event is just as it sounds; you can expect exciting games, local vendors, food, and the main event: dog shows. The festival features various whimsical competitions for the furry friends, including best costume, best lap dog, best trick, and more. Of course, the grand finale of Best in Show, which consists of the winners from each category (or anyone who wants to buy their way in with a $50 donation).

DogFest will start at 11 am on Saturday, April 25, and end by 3 pm in Duboce Park. Check out the schedule here:
- 11:30 am: Best Costume
- 12 pm: Best Trick
- 12:30 pm: Best Coat
- 1 pm: Halftime show featuring a brass band
- 1:30 pm: Best Mutt
- 2 pm: Best Lap Dog
- 2:30 pm: Best in Show
The wholesome event is free and family-friendly, with students and volunteers running the festival to raise money.

DogFest also has an online auction with items such as a two-night stay at a scenic resort, bottles of wine, gift cards to local bars and restaurants, wellness packages, and more. You can bid on auction items online, and bidding will close at 3 pm on Saturday, April 25.
We recommend taking public transit to Duboce Park, as parking is limited in the area. You can learn more about DogFest here.
