Free night markets and street parties have been popping up in neighborhoods around the city, showcasing local merchants and food vendors. One recently launched night market is returning this August, bringing live music, various vendors, and activities like bingo.
Fillmore After Dark August 2026
A popular night market is returning to the Fillmore District this August on Friday the 21st from 4 to 9 pm. This month’s market, Hot August Nights Edition, will feature various retail and artisan vendors, along with local food vendors. The market and street festival will take place on Fillmore Street and O’Farrell Street, and after the event, we recommend exploring some of the music venues, bars, and restaurants in the surrounding area.
“This market aims to honor the culture and history of the Fillmore and create new opportunities for local businesses and artists to thrive,” said Luke Spray, Executive Director of the Civic Joy Fund. “This is a chance for the Fillmore community to celebrate what makes this neighborhood so special, and an invitation for surrounding neighborhoods to come and explore.”
The market will also feature plenty of entertainment and activities, including pop-up casino games like Roulette, Craps, and Blackjack, live music, and a kids’ zone for families. Attendees can also join in a game of Bingo, which is specially designed to celebrate the history of the Fillmore and Western Addition neighborhoods. The event is open to all ages and is free to attend.
If you can’t make the August 21st night market, the market will return in October and December this year. The market is presented by multiple partners, including the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the Civic Joy Fund, Livable City, the nonprofit Citizen, and the events company Burge LLC.
