Spritz al fresco, anyone?
Beloved Italian restaurant Fiorella has just opened up a new location in the Inner Sunset, this time with a heated rooftop! San Franciscans know that rooftop dining isn’t exactly common around these parts, so this is a real treat in addition to the delicious specialty drinks and seasonal Italian food that are coming to the new location.
Co-owners Brandon Gillis and Boris Nemchenok opened Fiorella Sunset on Monday, August 30 at 1240 9th Avenue. The bi-level space has a sleek street level dining room, complete with a bar and a working fireplace. The roof deck is a private outdoor space on the second level with string lights, lush greenery, heaters, and a retractable awning for foggy days.
This new location will feature a full bar managed by SF bar director Candice Jae, who has lined up 8 specialty cocktails including “Pepe Verde” with mezcal, rum, green pepper, and pineapple; “La Tomatina” with gin, vermouth, tomato and lime; and “Pompelmo Spritz” with grapefruit vermouth, brandy, and prosecco.
Fiorella Sunset will continue to offer many of the high-quality menu items that we know and love from their other two locations, such as the burrata pie and herbed chicken wings. They’ve also introduced six new menu items exclusively for this location, including “Farfalle Nero Alla Octopus Ragu” with housemade farfalle and peperoncino; and “King Salmon Crudo” with marinated cucumbers and radish.
If that weren’t enough, they’re also adding a dough room, visible from the rooftop, where they’ll eventually prepare all the housemade pasta for all 3 locations. A gelato production space is also in the works!
Find Fiorella’s new location at 1240 9th Avenue in the Inner Sunset.
You can visit their other two locations at 2330 Clement St in the Outer Richmond and 2238 Polk St in Russian Hill.
