Last week, the San Francisco Botanical Garden’s beloved concert series, aptly named Flower Piano, returned for 2026. Now, after numerous free shows in the manicured garden, this weekend is your last chance to experience the unique open-air music series for 2026.
Flower Piano in SF Botanical Garden

Every September, the botanical garden places a dozen pianos throughout the sprawling gardens. Tucked away in scenic gardens and meadows, the pianos host free shows from professional musicians every day. When there isn’t a scheduled performance, visitors are encouraged to sit at one of the open pianos and play.
If you haven’t made it to the gardens yet, this weekend is not only your last chance for the year but also packed with a particularly exciting lineup. The SF Conservatory of Music will feature performers on Sunday, September 20, and the SF Opera will have performances both Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, September 19, the gardens will also host a festive fashion show in the Great Meadow, where participants will wear their best flower-inspired outfits.

Admission to the San Francisco Botanical Garden is free for San Francisco residents, including during the Flower Piano series. However, the gardens offer a lounge that comes with its own unique lineup, access to various food and drink vendors, and dedicated restrooms. Tickets for the Zoox Lounge cost $50 for adults and $25 for children.
Tickets and the full lineup of performers are available on the Gardens of Golden Gate Park website.
