The Legion of Honor is one of San Francisco’s most well-known art museums, hosting a vast collection of art, including iconic paintings and sculptures. While the museum is known for its art, it also boasts a century-old organ in its sculpture gallery. If you go at the right time, you can even hear a free organ concert while you explore the museum.
Free organ concerts in San Francisco

Every Saturday at 4 p.m., organists perform in the Rodin Gallery. The 100-year-old organ is integrated into the gallery, surrounded by sculptures and beautiful chandeliers. The organ was gifted to the museum for its opening in 1924, and 4,526 pipes were customized to fit into the museum. Parts of the rotunda are canvas-painted to look like stucco to allow the organ to be heard throughout the museum.
The Legion of Honor is free for San Francisco residents on Saturdays, so you can explore the many galleries while enjoying the music for free.
