San Francisco mini golfers were left with a golf ball-sized lump in their throats when Urban Putt closed its doors in December 2023 after almost a decade in business. But luckily for us, Australian company Funlab has announced an opening date for a brand-new mini golf course in the very same Mission District location. Holey Moley will open on July 19th, 2024 at 1096 S. Van Ness Ave in San Francisco.
The highly-anticipated, 18-hole course is designed as an immersive ’80s- and ’90s-themed labyrinth. You’ll find punny pop culture references throughout the 9,466 square foot space, including a playful recreation of the moon landing, a retro video game set, a whimsical candy shop, and an ode to King Kong. Accents include hand-painted murals and eye-catching neon lights.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of Holey Moley is the dangerously indulgent food and drink menu highlighting American classic comfort food. We’re eyeing the mushroom burger with truffle and garlic aioli, and the classic chicken wings nestled in a mini shopping cart.
Holey Moley’s dazzling cocktail lineup is promising Instagrammable drinks like the “Rub a Dub in the Tub,” an Aperol and peach drink served in a bathtub-shaped cup; and the “Cadillac Disco,” a mixture of tequila and Gran Marnier which arrives in a hollowed-out disco ball with plenty of straws for sharing.
Holey Moley is available to book now for mini golf sessions beginning on July 19th, 2024. And if you’re still holding onto an Urban Putt gift card or voucher, Holey Moley has promised to honor those.
🎟️ Price: $14 for 9 holes throughout the week, $20 for 18 holes Monday-Thursday, and $26 for 18 holes Friday-Sunday
